White Rock Mountain Day Use & Ozark Highlands Trail Parking Information

Trails, Overlook, Store, & Overnight Parking, Commercial Photography Permits.

The White Rock Mountain Recreation Area is open year round! There are multiple amenities and activities offered at White Rock. Plan a sunset picnic overlooking the Ozark National Forest, hike the Rim Trail, celebrate a milestone at one of the pavilions… There is so much to do!
Day-Use Parking: $3 per vehicle – Overnight OHT or Loop Trail Parking: $5 per vehicle

  • Day-Use Fee: *$3 per vehicle*This fee is required for ANY amount of time visiting the Overlook. Please submit payment (cash & coin only) at the Day- Use parking kiosk or you may pay with a card in the office. Office hours are from 10-7 daily.
  • Proceeds will help support trail, grounds, and on site structure rehabilitation. Thank you for your support!
  • Please contact Turner Bend to arrange hiking shuttles, White Rock Mountain Staff and the USDA Forest Service will not transport hikers.

Ozark Highlands Trail Parking:

$5 per vehicle

All vehicles parking at the OHT trail head must check in at the Brown & White Office. If you are arriving earlier than 10am please call 479-369-4128 for early check-in arrangements.

Commercial Photography Permits:

The Sunset Pavilion Area and along the Rim Trail at White Rock Mountain is an excellent option for scheduled photography sessions. There is ample room for guests and a large picnic area at the entrance to the pavilion path/rim trail for setup and changing. Commercial photography sessions include but are not limited to Bridal, Engagement, Family Portraits, Graduation Photos, and any contracted shoot or commercial photography/film endeavor at White Rock Mountain.

  • Bluffs and trails with beautiful views.
  • Picnic areas with picnic tables for setup, ample room for a changing shelter/popup tent. (Shelters/tents not provided.)
  • Vault toilet.
  • *No electricity, No running water.*
  • Guest Limit: Up to 8 persons total (not including photographer) for up to 1.5 hours for each contracted session.
  • You must schedule at least two weeks in advance of your contracted session so that session dates do not conflict with scheduled sessions, scheduled events, etc . Please contact us with two preferred dates in mind at [email protected]Please include name of photographer, two preferred dates, number of guests, number of vehicles, number of desired sessions, and any other pertinent details. We will then send you a form to fill out and return to confirm your desired date. All submissions and conformations will be conducted through email. Proof of liability insurance for contracted photography sessions is required.

    Cost: $40 (Plus taxes, non-refundable, one reschedule permitted due to inclement weather or adverse road conditions such as downed trees.)

    Allowed Time: 1.5 hours per session.

    Available from Sunrise to Sunset.

    Please check in at the brown and white office at the top of the mountain upon arrival the day of your scheduled session.

Rules:

  • HIGH CLIFF AREA: Children MUST be supervised at all times.
  • PARK CLOSES AT SUNSET, STRICTLY ENFORCED.
  • OHV use is not permitted with in the park.
  • Pack it in pack it out, no trash service available.
  • NO EV charging available at this time.
  • Pets are allowed but MUST remain on leash.
  • Visitors must keep the noise level to a minimum.
  • Shuttles and rides are not available at this time, please plan your trip accordingly.
  • Fires are not allowed in the Day Use Area.
  • Climbing and Rappelling NOT ALLOWED.
  • Fireworks are not allowed.​
  • No hunting allowed within the 58 acre facility.
  • Wildlife area, keep all food & trash properly secured. DO NOT feed ANY animal.
